On January 6th, Yan Jinye, a junior majoring in clinical medicine at Ningbo University, received an official invitation letter from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. From March 10th to 12th this year, she will be one of the Chinese youth representatives invited to attend the "2025 United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs Youth Forum" held in Vienna, Austria.
On July 9th, 2024, the National Narcotics Control Office initiated a national selection activity for candidates to the 2025 United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs Youth Forum. After being recommended by Zhejiang Province and going through layers of selection nationwide, Yan Jinye stood out among 26 outstanding youth representatives and became one of the top three, successfully making it to the list recommended by the National Narcotics Control Office, and ultimately received the invitation letter from the United Nations.
It is reported that the forum is an annual event under the government's drug prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation initiative mechanism of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. It aims to encourage young people to actively promote drug prevention education. Every March, youth representatives from various countries express their views, share experiences, and innovate methods on issues such as drug prevention education, treatment and rehabilitation, legal systems, and international cooperation through speeches and group discussions, conveying their voices to global policymakers
