Speaker Profile: Gangqiang Ding
Gangqiang Ding, MD/Professor, PhD Supervisor, is a former Director and Chief Nutrition Expert at the National Institute for Nutrition and Health, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention. He currently serves as Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the Chinese Nutrition Society, Vice President of the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology, Chair of the National Nutrition and Health Expert Committee, Deputy Chair of the Expert Committee of the China New Resource Health Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, and member of the National Food Safety Risk Assessment Expert Committee, the National Food and Nutrition Consultative Committee, the Nutrition Standards Committee of the National Health Commission's Standards Committee, and the Nutrition and Special Dietary Foods Committee of the National Food Safety Standards Review Committee. He is a recipient of the Second National Innovation and Excellence Award.
His research primarily focuses on nutrition, food safety, food science, and public health. He has led or participated in over 30 projects, including the Ministry of Science and Technology's "10th Five-Year Plan" National Major Science and Technology Program, the "11th," "12th," and "13th Five-Year Plan" National Key R&D Programs, National Natural Science Foundation of China projects, and Ministry of Health research initiatives. His accolades include over 30 awards, such as First Prizes from the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association and the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology, a Special Prize from the China Food Industry Association, Second Prize from the Huaxia Medical Science and Technology Awards, and Second and Third Prizes for Scientific and Technological Progress from Beijing and Zhejiang provinces. He has published over 300 academic papers.
